When Robyn and I arrived, the line was out the door! We even had to ask each other if we were at the right spot, since it was an ‘invitation only’ event. We waited for what seemed like an eternity, but in actuality was just about 10 minutes. When we walked in, there was a decadent display of candles, fanciful curtains, and roughly 115 wedding industry professionals, all there for the same reason…to network. To top it off, we were greeted with delicious passed hors d'oeuvres and two words…open bar!
It was a successful evening for the two of us, promoting Society Weddings and getting the chance to meet wonderful people who we hope to work with in the future. We chatted with photographers, invitation and stationary designers, and even fellow wedding planners, sharing stories and great laughs.
It was not the first event that we have attended, and surely not the last. Our calendars are booked for the next several months!
Who knows, maybe it will be you that we’re chatting it up with next time!

Most recently, me and my fellow colleague, Robyn Wien, Senior Public Relations Director, attended a networking event at popular SLATE Restaurant and Events in NYC.
