A Society Weddings Couple - After the Wedding

SOUTHBURY, Conn. - Raj and Darcy Bhatia own and weekend on Willow Creek Farm, located just an hour and 15 minutes away from Manhattan; it is a private equestrian community situated on a 103-acre historic horse farm nestled in the picturesque hills of Southbury, Connecticut.
Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting with Raj and Darcy and their two lovely sons, Remy aged 2 and baby Jesse, 4 months old at Willow Creek Farm, and the soon to be Willow Creek Estates - an exclusive community of upscale homes which are to be situated on the outskirts of their property. Raj envisions the development to take advantage of the farm's abundant views.
Six years ago while planning their Society Wedding (I don't know where the time goes, but time really does fly), Darcy and Raj requested a location for their wedding and reception that would encompass horses - Darcy has always been a horse lover. But the location was also to be historical and somewhat upscale and sophisticated in nature. While their farm was not available for their nuptials, or from what I have recently learned, nowhere near ready (much has gone on at the farm during the last six years) evidenced above (ha! ha!), we were able to find an ideal, historic landmarked location where horses once trotted. The wedding was fabulous! (If I say so myself :)!)
What Darcy and Raj call this their weekend retreat, Willow Creek is nestled in the heart of Litchfield Hills. As Raj showed Ernest and me around the property, he talked about their plans to build 24 custom, high-end homes around the property, install a chef's commercial kitchen, as well as other expansion plans. Raj's vision of Willow Creek Development Estates is already in the works with construction of the model house already underway -- it should be noted that these are not spec homes, they are custom homes developed to appeal to those horse lovers in the market for a second or weekend home.
It is an absolutely fabulous and breathtaking location that reminds me much of the rolling hill in the countryside of England.
