For those to-be grooms, we are providing you with this handy timeline of items that may assist you with your planned nuptials (print this page and put it in your wallet for easy reference). The lucky lady will be so glad to know that you are organized and as much involved in the planning as she is.

The Groom's Calendar
10-12 Months Before "I DO":
· Select the engagement ring (if you have not already done so).
· Announce your engagement - this is usually a joint decision.
· Discuss wedding plans and budget with your fiancée and both sets of parents.
· Select your best man or men, groomsmen, ushers (the recommended number is one usher per 40 guests).
8-9 Months Before "I DO":
· Meet with your officiant (minister, priest, or rabbi, etc.) to discuss the ceremony.
· Start compiling your guest list with your fiancée and parents.
· Begin making your honeymoon travel plans (this item is usually all yours).
6 Months Before "I DO":
· Visit gift registry with fiancée - you both can also do this on-line.
· Arrange for transportation to ceremony and reception for the wedding party.
· Complete your honeymoon plans.
· Register with nearest tuxedo location and pick your tuxedos and accessories (your bride-to-be will most likely have input here, so don't forget to consult with her).
3 Months Before "I DO":
· Return to tuxedo shop and get fitted for your tuxedo.
· Send tuxedo shop size/measurement cards to any out-of-town members of the wedding party.
· Complete the guest list.
· Select and order wedding rings (this is usually a joint decision).
· Begin to plan rehearsal dinner with your parents (it is customary that groom's parents host this event).
· Select gifts for your bride and wedding party.
1 Month Before "I DO":
· Make sure all men have been measured for their tuxedos and that they have been ordered.
· Get your marriage license (both you and your bride-to-be must be present with required documentation - check with your local county clerk's office).
· Arrange to move belongings to your new home.
2 Weeks Before "I DO":
· Attend your bachelor party (HIRE PLANNED TRANSPORTATION - as you won't want to drink and drive).
· Adjust insurance policies, bank accounts, utilities, etc.
The Week Before "I DO":
· Pick up your tuxedo ... final fitting an absolute must -- in the store, so as to insure a proper fit.
· Pack for the honeymoon - don't forget to check weather forecast in your destination.
· Get cash for gratuities and officiant's fee - you'll most like have a WEDDING CONSULTANT; he/she will handle distribution to vendors on the day-of.
· Inhale and take a deep breath... you're almost there.
· Enjoy your rehearsal and dinner - don't forget to toast your future bride and thank everyone for attending.
AHH, FINALLY! The Big Day:
· Double-check all details, wedding rings, and transportation... marriage license.
· Get to the ceremony on time.
· Relax and Enjoy your wedding! CONGRATULATIONS!!
